I´m
Amanda Velasco

Before dedicating my time to study Spanish teaching as a Foreign/Second Language, I studied Drama, Choreography, Ballet, Contemporary Dance and Pilates, fields in which I am also officially certified.
Being born and raised in the beautiful city of Granada (Spain), I have spent most of my life travelling and living abroad, getting to know various cultures, countries and different types of people from all over the world.

I have worked as a professional ballerina in Japan, lived in Belgium and England, studied in Málaga and Madrid, and travelled around several countries in Europe, Africa, America and Asia.

Those experiences enriched my cultural interest, my understanding and my ability to adapt myself to different cultures, surroundings and lifestyles.

Therefore, I am fluent in a few languages: Spanish, my mother tongue, and English (certified with the Cambridge First Certificate).

I also master French and have a basic knowledge of Italian. Currently, I am also starting to learn German.

I can´t hide my passion for languages, culture, learning and travelling.

In terms of professional experience as a Spanish teacher, I have worked in several language schools, where I have carried out the teaching class of Spanish to students of different nationalities, at all levels (from A1 to C2) and in both categories, face-to- face (individual and in groups) and online.

In addition, I have been responsible for the development and updating of teaching materials of the school. I have also been teaching in Denmark as a guest teacher at the “Spanish Week of Aarhus” (2017, 2018 and 2019).

As a teacher, I truly believe that anyone can learn a second language, it is just a question of finding which methodology suits the student best to understand and learn the chosen language, which depends on their way of learning, motivation and goals.

What I like most about my profession is the cultural and human exchange. We can´t forget that learning a language is also learning culture and meeting new different types of people with their own way of seeing the world, and it is there where I enjoy the most, because through this teaching sharing process l also learn from my students.

“If you desire it, you can do it”
I HELP YOU TO GET IT!

I can´t hide my passion for languages, culture, learning and travelling
